Is one of the most 'other worldly' place in Dominica where steam rises from the ground through yellow sulphur vents and some of the most breathtaking views you are likely to see on any Caribbean island. The hike is typical of many of those in Dominica with abundant and varied bird life, flora and fauna - some of which is endemic to Dominica. You may even catch a glimpse of the elusive Manicou (possum) or shy Agouti (small goat-sized mammal). River bathing and wading is extremely refreshing - the water is clear, clean, cool and inviting.
Scotts Head
At the extreme southern tip of Dominca lies Scotts Head and the ruins of Fort Cashcrou. The submerged volcano of Soufriere Bay offer superb photo opportunities as well as the chance for some of the best snorkelling and diving to be found in the whole Caribbean.
Indian River
In the North west of the island, near the small town of Portsmouth Indian River offers a wonderful tropical river boat ride with great photo opportunities.
Roseau
Roseau is Dominica's capital and has a beautiful waterfront allowing views of the mountains to the north and the south. There is also a cruise ship pier which allows the large vessels to get right up close. Most of the islands shops & services are found here. Everything is withinn walking distance, so why not have a stroll?
Hot Springs at Titou Gorge
Titou Gorge actually has two wonderfull attractions - an idyllic, steep-sided, weathered gorge cut vertically by river waters and the Hot Springs - take a dip in both! It's like natural hot & cold water taps...if you dare!
