Soca/Calypso

When one thinks of music in the Caribbean on thinks of pulsating rhythms, colourful costumes dancing, street parties and having a good time. Nowhere is this more true than in the world of Soca and Calypso music! Soca derives part of its name from its older musical relative, Calypso. The 'So' part stands for 'Soul' and the 'ca' stands for 'Calypso'. Soca music is at the heart of much of Caribbean culture and songs often are a way of remembering culture & traditions - one thing is true for all types of soca and Calypso - it is impossible not to move to it! The ideal way to get a party really going...
